The Nittany Valley Charter School embodies a philosophy based on individualized instruction. We allow our students the educational freedom to explore their interests, and learn to love the idea of learning for a lifetime.
Nittany Valley charter school responds not only to a child's intellectual needs, but also to their emotional, social, and physical needs. Our curriculum is designed to educate the whole child because we believe it is an important component in creating responsible, healthy, and happy individuals.
We believe in giving our students a lot of individual attention. We accomplish this by keeping our school small, just 48 students in grades K-6. We have 8 certified teachers and 3 highly specialized staff, creating a teacher to student ratio not found in larger schools.
Nittany Valley Charter School maintains a flexible, open classroom environment. We design our curriculum around our student's strengths and interests, and encourage our students to explore their unique educational pursuits.
Our school encompasses a strong environmental component. We offer classes in environmental education, and a school wide educational field trip ever Friday to appreciate nature and foster environmental responsibility.
Our school is a proud community of parents, students, and educators. We work together to make our school great. We encourage parental involvement in our school, including opportunities to volunteer in an out of the classroom. Because we are so small, our families get to know each other in a way not possible for many larger schools.
