Friday enrichment activities have begun!

On Monday, the students in Shannon, Verna, and Brandy's classes will attend the school-time matinee at Eisenhower Auditorium: "Diary of a Worm, a Spider, and a Fly"
NVCS got to meet the State College Mayor!
Our students had really great questions to ask him about his work as a public official.
Brandy's class is studying Egypt, but they didn't know how to "Walk like an Egyptian"!
Learning their Spanish colors in a fun way.
Trash Walk and Lederer Park:
This Friday is wheels day! Students should bring a helmet and any non-motorized mode of transportation to ride around the park path.
The new park equipment is open!! Yay!
Juicing fresh ingredients for a smoothie snack
An Adjective Fashion Show in Brandy's Class
Trader Joe's Tour and Circleville Park
This Friday, the students will be walking to Lederer Park while collecting trash along the way. A "trash walk" to help keep our community clean! Dress warmly. :)
Investigating Maple Trees
Day of Caring pictures of our volunteers.
Hands-on learning opportunities with Carolyn
Older students rode CATA buses to Wegmans
Younger students toured Natures Pantry
Green Hollow Park was a new experience that we really enjoyed!
Parent volunteers have fun too on field trips!
This week we tour Trader Joe's and then eat our lunch at a park and play some more! :)
Next Thursday, 10/11 is picture day at NVCS. Forms are coming home this week. Even if you choose not to order a picture packet of your child, they will be included in the class picture and whole school photo. Thanks!
Grades 3 and up went camping!
Then, grades K -2 joined in on the fun.
This Thursday, Matt and Joyce's class will be doing some community service and participating in the 25th year of Centre County's United Way Day of Caring. :)
In Spanish class, they are learning about the senses:
This Friday, we will be touring local grocery stores. We will shop, in groups, for the ingredients for recipes that we will be making back at school. We will then go to a park for lunch and recess. Remember a refillable water bottle and non-microwaveable lunch. Please dress in layers, the forecast says cloudy and 68 degrees.
*An early reminder that we will have no school on October 17, 18, and 19th for a Fall Break.
The older students had a very interesting trip to Meadowcroft where they learned about history, anthropology, and archaeology!
The rest of us had a great time exploring and helping at Carolyn's Farm. Bug catching galore!
Tomorrow, grades 3 and up go camping and K-2 will join them on Friday! We will be hiking; we recommend boots. Don't forget a refillable water bottle and a non-microwave lunch. With all of the rain we have had, it is buggy out there. Bug protection is a good idea. :)
